A Solid Foundation

Foundation(s)-founded base on which something is built; to build on a solid base

Jesus teaches about those who build houses on rock and sand (Matthew 7:24)

The Wise and Foolish Builders
Mt 24" Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

As I look at this paragraph in the Bible I see Jesus speaking about building a house, I see this house representing our life, and the foundation as God's word. Being a woodworker and a mechanic, I understand the importance of a solid base when building a cabinet and a solid frame when restoring an old car. In each case if the base or frame is not solid the project will not stand the stresses or the tests of time. This is the same - for our life, if we don't build our life on God's word, and the storms of life come which are the troubles and trials, and they will come; will we be like the man that built his house (life)on the sand (world's ways and beliefs) or will we be like the man that built his house (life) on the rock (God's word) and be able to stand the tests and trials of life. I hope we all choose God's word, and take his word and read and study it so we can find God's plan and purpose for our lives. I pray that we build our lives on the rock and have the life God would have us live, a life not of fear but that of Faith, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

Blog working again

I'm glad to see after much work today that the blog is working again. It's funny how one little button hidden somewhere can mess everything up.

HEARING

TONIGHT I LAY HERE AWAKE, WITH MANY THINGS RAMBLING THROUGH MY HEAD. AS I TRY TO SORT OUT MY THOUGHTS AND THE LORDS VOICE I CLEARLY HEAR...WATER DRIPPING (AND NOT FROM THE FISH TANK), THEN THE SOUND OF RUSHING WATER, LIKE THREW A CREEK. I ASK THE LORD "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TELL ME? HOW ?" MY MIND FILLS WITH WORDS AGAIN. I NEED TO CLEAR MY MIND OF ALL THOUGHTS.
LIKE MY HUSBAND SAID EARLIER...YOU NEED TO RELAX AND TAKE A BREAK.
TO ALL THOSE WITH MANY THOUGHTD RUNNING THREW YOUR MIND...LET'S TAKE A BREAK AND RELAX TO HEAR....BETTER.

Corporate Prayer

Our Papa has been working wonderfully through the corporate prayer times He began not so long ago. Revelation has been flowing in His people so freely. It's exciting! I want to encourage everyone who has not yet been able to join us to consider how to fit this powerful time into your family's schedule.

We're experiencing some "reality pains" in implementing this consistently, so bear with us as we seek His face for direction. Here's what we'd like you to do if you're wondering what's going on and want to be involved: Call Mona or me (Jan) to see if the church is open for prayer on an evening that isn't already open. On the days when one of us can be there, we will be. On the days when we can't be, there may be alternate venues available (like my house) for everyone who wants to join together. Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll be praying for half an hour or an hour after the meetings that night, so come on out if you're willing and able!

For those of you with keys to the building and transportation, we invite you to adopt one evening while we're going through the transition phase and open the building for prayer on one of those off days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). You could post those days on this blog, or announce it on Sunday, or let Mona or I know so we can pass it on to those that phone, or whatever. That way we share one another's burdens and don't drop the ball on the good work that God has begun in the interim of receiving the fullness of His vision for Grace in this area.

And of course, the most important thing is to continue to choose to pray wherever you are, whether you're able to make it out to a gathering or not. Pray with someone on the phone like Holly and Kathleen and others are doing. Pray together with your family for the target areas given to us. Remember the foci He's given us: Restoration of family relationships through the tearing down of strongholds, and physical healing breaking through in our congregation and lives on a real and regular basis. The will of God is crystal clear in these areas and we know that faith begins where the will of God is known. Amen? (More on that later) ;)

God moves when we pray and I invite you to join me in my tenacity to P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens)!
